I love comic books, and have ever since I was a kid.  My wife Missy, as I've written before, often will get hooked on things I like, and make them her own.  This is true with a tv show I love, The Flash on CW.

The acting on the show is great, the special effects fantastic, and the plot has been slowly building to a reveal of a particular something all season.

Missy doesn't know what the something is.  With my previous knowledge from the comics, I'm pretty sure I do.  Each week we watch it together, and I love the show for itself, but also because I love watching Missy get into it.  Last week she had us watch the ending of the episode about a dozen times in a row, trying to see if the hint it was dropping for this week was what she thought it was.

I love that.  And I love her.

I'm a fan of niceness.

I like being kind to others, and love it even more when others are kind. It doesn't have to be to me, either. In fact, I get a sort of secondhand buzz from the way people are kind to one another.

Case in point: we just released a new episode of the Big Little Podcast, an interview with Sarah Plain & Small.

It's really good. He's an exceptional guy, married to a wonderful woman who is exceptionally kind and open hearted.

When we recorded the interview he had a terrible cold, which he was rather self-conscious about. In the posting on our Fetlife group he said as much.

The listeners, many of whom are friends of his, very kindly assured him that it was no big deal, and that the interview was amazing.

They are right too. He's a wonderful person.  My heart is full from all the kindness of this.

Sunday was a busy day of errands for me, culminating with grocery shopping.  Unfortunately just as I finished it started to rain.

It was a cold rain, too. I was wearing shorts and no jacket and it was just windy and chilly enough to make it rather unpleasant.  When I got home I backed in, using the hatch of my car to give me some shelter as I unloaded.

I almost never back the car in, and it worked really well. It struck me that a lot of things in life are just like this: if you are mindful and make small changes, little improvements can happen.

Friday night, or rather Saturday morning, I was up until about 3am because we were recording an episode of the podcast.

I woke up feeling like I was run over by a truck.  So I spent the day moving slowly. I slept in, cuddled Missy a lot.

It was good.  Sometimes it's good to exhaust yourself and reboot.

Found this 8 bit tie friday morning.

Brother and I wore them 4 years ago when we ran in the Disney Wine & Dine half marathon together. We had light up EL wire fedoras and shoelaces, wore all black, and these ties. We were "8 bit commuters".

Terrible pun, great memory.
