Sunday night we got in around 9pm. I was that horrible mix of jacked and exhausted.

Exhausted from a 9 hour trip in the car (including traffic around the Verrazano bridge and a stop for Tony Soprano's pizza (cheese, with mushrooms) in New Jersey)

Jacked from being home. I had this minecraft project of mine on my mind, and proceeded to stay up until 2am working on it with a friend.

Yeah, stupid.

The next day I managed to get myself up for work, drove in, started reading my email and realized I was bonking.

This is the icon for work bonking.

Thank goodness for understanding bosses and sick days. I got the heck out of their and went home for a extra large sized nap (no cheese, no mushrooms)

I lost a day somewhere. The Sunday we found Missy's glasses should have been day 172.

That's okay though. I'm grateful that it's okay to make mistakes.  That's true every day.

Sunday morning we woke up with and without something.

With: hangovers (the party had wine, champagne, mixed drinks, & sake.)

Without: Missy's glasses.

She had misplaced them someplace Saturday night.  She felt  terrible about this.  She had a good idea where they might be.

That morning we went back to my aunt's and sure enough, they were exactly where she thought.

 Whew!

Saturday I knew was going to be a Very Bad Eating Day™ because of the party we were going to that night.

Thankfully our very nice hotel had this:

It was cold. It was bracing. I did 45 minutes of breaststroke and was glad for it.

Much better!

Much better!

Friday morning we got on our way from the Bad Hotel™ and drove another several hours to the Hamptons. My aunt put us up in a very nice hotel.

After we got our bags squared away, and got changed into more relaxed clothes, we met up with my aunt, who showed us her lovely home, and toured us around the Hamptons. We met up with an old friend of hers who I hadn't seen since I was about 17, and went to her house which has its own private beach.

I got to put my feet in the ocean. Now that's a good way to end a long drive.
